(Tea Party 247) – The Democrats are enjoying clutching their pearls over the National Guard presence in Washington, D.C. ahead of the strangest Inauguration Day in U.S. history, and now they’re working up their own conspiracy theories to boot.

25,000 National Guard troops have been deployed to the nation’s capital for the event where military zones have been established and bridges into the city closed ahead of the event.

On Monday, a fire in a homeless camp interrupted an inauguration rehearsal.

House Democrat Rep. Steven Cohen (D-TN), apparently not content with an overly secure Inauguration Day in response to the January 6th attack on Capitol Hill, is casting doubt on the trustworthiness of the National Guard troops themselves.

One wonders who, exactly, he expects to keep all the innocent Democrats safe from the big, scary Trump supporters if not National Guard troops.

“The Guard is 90-some-odd percent, I believe, male. Only about 20% of white males voted for Biden,” Cohen declared to a very sympathetic CNN. “You gotta figure that in the Guard, which is predominantly more conservative, and I see that on my social media … they’re probably not more than 25% of the people that are there protecting us who voted for Biden.

“The other 75% are in the class that would be the large class of folks who might want to do something,” he charged. “And there were military people and police who took oaths to defend the Constitution and to protect and defend who didn’t do it who were in the insurrection. So it does concern me.”

Conservative radio legend Rush Limbaugh described this smearing of the reputation of members of the National Guard or the Secret Service as “sick,” which it most certainly is.

“So the transition team has asked commanders of the National Guard to take whatever steps they deem necessary to neuter these members of the National Guard. The request supposedly was refused, which ended up fueling the fear of an actual attack. Supposedly the fears of the transition team started with Biden’s Secret Service detail,” he explained.

“So they’re wanting people to believe that the Secret Service detail is still under the command of Trump, that they’re still loyal to Trump, and that they’re going to do whatever they’re gonna do here against Plugs. This is sick! This is not what the Secret Service does. The Secret Service does not get compromised like this. The very idea that the Democrat Party wants you to think this kind of thing is possible is being one for one reason.”

He accused the Democrats of employing a strategy to give the American public the impression that they’ll have to give up some of their freedoms as “drastic action” is taken.

Sound familiar?

We’ve already gotten used to this amid the pandemic.

“I don’t quite know how to characterize this. It’s not enough to call what’s happening a shame. But the steps to which the Democrats are willing to go in order here to control as much of the thinking and movement in this country as so they can is just beyond the pale. But they are dead serious about it,” Limbaugh explained.

Since the January 6th attack on the Capitol Building, many have been raising concerns about protesters trying to disrupt the Inauguration Day proceedings.

Additional security fencing has been installed as well as concertina and other measures.

Washington D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser has urged Americans to stay home and join the inauguration virtually.

Of course, before January 6th, events for the occasion were already being canceled due to the pandemic, supposedly.

It’s almost as if they’ve never wanted anyone to see how many people would freely show up to a Joe Biden Inauguration.

After all, no one was clutching their pearls over the Trump inauguration in 2017.

Cohen was, however, forced to concede that he had seen no evidence of an “insider attack,” something that has been alleged by a hysterical media complex who also has no evidence.

“This is a great example of how norms are just being swept aside and replaced by insanity that’s made to look like normalcy. It’s just beyond the pale, what is being done,” Limbaugh said of Cohen’s wild claims.

Politico reported that officials expressed concerns about an “insider threat” and had been “vetting” the troops already in D.C.

Cohen was widely slammed on Twitter, as well he ought to have been.
