BLM Is Demanding Pay-Back for Staging Riots in Support of Biden
Black Lives Matter co-founder Patrice Cullors is delivering a very clear message to the Biden administration. Since BLM was responsible for helping to support Biden during the election cycle, they are asking to be repaid for their assistance. Cullors has yet to issue a specific demand but it is easy enough to read between the lines.
She sent a letter to Biden, requesting a one on one meeting. According to her, the organization has certain expectations for the Biden presidency that must be met. Cullors went on to say that black people won the presidency for him, so he needs to be cognizant of that. Asking Joe Biden to remember what happened 10 minutes ago is a lot but we digress.
Cullors has already been in the headlines, after recently signing a multi-year deal with Warner Brothers Television Group. She definitely intends to stay in the public eye, so Joe Biden is not going to be able to duck her as easily as he would like. Her primary claim is a simple one to understand. In her words, âblack voters showed up in huge numbers to turn this country aroundâ¯and remove the racist in the White House.â
âWhatâ¯is abundantly clear is Black voters tipped the scales in favor of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, especiallyâ¯in Rust Belt battlegroundâ¯states. Itâs a testament to our communities that the same people who have been treated the worst by our democracy still showed up to saveâ¯it.
We congratulate President-elect Biden and particularly Vice President-elect Kamala Harris, on becoming the countryâs first woman â a Black woman â to serve as Vice President. This historic win is a testament to the work Black women have been doing in the streets, in this campaign, and at every level of politics. On Jan. 20, 2021, the sun will rise on an America that is no longer a global embarrassment. New work will begin,â Cullors said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
Bidenâs win may not be as historic as some would claim but he has won the most votes of any presidential candidate. On the other hand, Trump won the most votes of any president who has ever sought re-election. Their vote totals are the byproduct of a high turnout. Cullors may believe that she can race-bait her way into what she believes is rightfully hers but these tactics wonât have the desired effect.
To be fair, Kamala Harrisâ victory was a very historic moment. Cullors is also not the first person to believe that their efforts during an election cycle need to be recognized by the incoming administration. Biden canât kowtow to what these people have to say, though. Far-left candidates are still being rejected and the blue wave has yet to materialize.
Republicans are only gaining more ground at the state level. Biden now has a very difficult tightrope to walk. He has to convince the progressives who voted for him that he has their best interests at heart while showing that he can work with the GOP to get things done. Itâs going to be a long four years for him. Heâll be batting away requests from the Marxist wing of the party for the entirety of his term.
Biden claims that he is going to be the most progressive president the nation has ever seen, so good luck with that. Heâs not the only politician that is going to be feeling the pressure from the groups that he decided to cozy up to. Gavin Newsom is already being told how he is going to run his state by these organizations.
âThe group has started a petition calling for either Karen Bass or Barbara Lee to be appointed in Harrisâs stead, guaranteeing a black woman will remain in the Senate until at least 2022, when Harrisâs current term expires,â reads the latest report from the Daily Mail. âAppointing a Black woman to this seat is nonnegotiable â this must be done,â the petition says. Newsom will be caving in and so it will go. Identity politics rules the day.
