Senior Kamala Harris campaign staffers who were promised paychecks through the end of the year have found themselves fired and cut off with just one day’s notice. This comes on the heels of revelations that the campaign blew through $1 billion in donor funds in three months and still managed to end the 2024 race with $20 million in debt.

Further complicating the matter is the fact that the fired staff are all labor union members. The hostile act of firing them all and cutting their checks off before Thanksgiving isn’t sitting well with one of the Democrat Party’s main donor groups. The Harris campaign has offered to let the staffers keep their health insurance until the first of the year to appease the unions.

It’s a shocking turnaround for a campaign that managed to raise a billion dollars in such a short amount of time. Financial disclosures have revealed that a string of bad decisions by Harris campaign consultants resulted in leaving behind a wake of debt and failure.

The campaign spent $10 million on celebrity endorsements during the evening of Election Day. When it became clear that Harris had lost the race, she didn’t even show up to address her supporters at the official watch party.

The campaign spent money on frivolous things like the $100,000 it spent building a fake set for a raunchy sex podcast interview and $12 million on private jet travel. Oprah Winfrey and her Harpo Productions were paid a total of $2.5 million to host a fake town hall in which Oprah lavished praise on Harris.

Celebrities like Beyonce, Bruce Springsteen, and others also collected big paydays to perform the “free” concerts to beef up the size of Harris’s campaign rallies. The celebrities and campaign consultants made out like bandits. As for the Kamala staffers—they’re out in the cold right before Thanksgiving.
