Are Big Ag Companies Trafficking Kamala’s ‘Legal’ Migrants?

The United Food and Commercial Workers Union (UFCW) has accused a meat factory in Greeley, Colorado of engaging in “management-let human trafficking” of legal migrants from Haiti and Africa. This is yet another example of why Kamala Harris and Democrats in general cannot even be trusted to handle legal immigration responsibly.

According to the union president, the JBS meat processing plant is exploiting legal migrants with work visas from Haiti and Benin in West Africa. If the allegations from the UFCW are true, the illegal labor practices are very similar to exploitative 19th and early 20th-century employers who paid their workers in company currency, which could only be spent in the company store owned by the employer.

The UFCW says most of the American workers at the JBS plant have been replaced by approximately 500 migrant workers. The union says JBS is “renting” squalid apartments to the migrants and simply deducting the rent from their pay (i.e., paying them less by giving them a dump to live in). JBS is also accused of charging migrants exploitative amounts to fill out job applications and for transportation to and from work.

The union says JBS is withholding mail from the migrants, including important paperwork and medical bills. In addition, the complaint alleges that JBS is using threats and intimidation against the workers and their family members back home to keep them in line, and the plant’s production line is being operated at dangerously high speeds.

Similar complaints have emerged in agricultural plants in Springfield, Ohio, and Charleroi, Pennsylvania, which have seen massive influxes of “legal” migrants that Kamala Harris has let into the country. Americans are out of work, migrants are taking all the jobs, and they’re being exploited with slave wages. Great job, Kamala!
