Kamala Harris’s longtime friendship with a queer California leader who supported legalizing child pornography has come to light less than three weeks before the 2024 election. Harris has campaigned with former California state Senator Mark Leno (D) and has often referred to him as a “dear friend” through the years.

According to former US House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R), who served in the state legislature concurrently with Leno, the queer lawmaker tried to legalize the possession of child porn. Leno was the author of Assembly Bill 50, which would have legalized the possession of up to 99 “items” containing child pornography before making it a felony. A CD-ROM with 1,000 child porn images on it would have counted as “one item” under the legislation.

Even the Los Angeles Daily News was creeped out by the legislation that was drafted by Kamala’s dear friend. The paper noted that the bill “would make your skin crawl.”  The paper referred to the Democrat passage of the bill as “a creepy all-time low” for the California legislature.

Leno campaigned for Kamala Harris when she ran for San Francisco District Attorney in 2003. They even had dinner together on election night that year.

When Leno announced that he was retiring from the state Senate in 2016, Kamala praised him for his “committed service” and for working to “secure a better future for California’s most vulnerable children.”

The Daily Caller contacted Kamala Harris’s campaign to ask whether she supports legalizing child porn through legislation like AB 50. The campaign never responded. The more that the public learns about Kamala Harris and her associates, the worse she looks.

The two have maintained a close relationship for more than 20 years. Here’s a tweet that Leno sent about Harris in 2018:
